Safety town

Andrew just completed his two week safety class called "safety town".  It is a super cute program through the rec department for kindergarten age kids.  They learn all about how to cross the street and ride bikes safely.  They take field trips to the police and fire stations.    And they sing songs with safety messages.  My personal favorite goes,
"If you ever play with matches,
If you do, if you do,
You may burn your house down.
That won't do.  That won't do."

Andrew liked Safety Town, but really didn't talk about it.  Grace used to come home every day with a safety lecture for us.

Below are some pictures from the "graduation" on the last day.  (Why on earth every kid class kids these days involves some sort of graduation or parent observance session is beyond me-that is a discussion for another day.)
He appears a little skeptical of his diploma.  Probably because he didn't remember the words to any of the safety songs.
There is a little town set up on the playgrounds and the kids demonstrate obeying traffic signals, safe crossing, etc.  Andrew was a little big for the tricycles!

Zoo day

It was a balmy 56 degrees today, so grabbed our coats and we headed out to the zoo.  The kids were much more interested in the carousel ride and popcorn than the animals.

Recently

Well I am way behind in my blogging!  We are half way through the summer and so far it has been great.  We took a trip to hilton head and had a fabulous time.  The kids are in a bunch of summer activities and totally exhausted from all the fun.  Here are a few recent pictures.

I cannot remember if I have shared this yet.  But this is one of my favorites.  Could she be any cuter?

We made a birthday cake for Bop.

Kevin and I went to Zac Brown at summerfest and it was fun.  Really fun.  I had a great time.  Great friends.  Great music.  Really.  Seriously awesome.

We celebrated my parents anniversary and my dad's birthday.

And Mae is fully embracing the summer, especially if it means Popsicles!

Sweet stuff

I love this vacuum.  I love seeing the dirt and dust fill up the in the container.  So gross.  It is a little hard on the carpets, but other than that... 5 stars!
